Overview on the development of clinical immunoassays routinely on blood transfusion safety in China

    The targets of immunoassay for the blood transfusion safety are to detect transfusion transmitted micropathogens, compelling to detect HBS, HIV, HCV and Syphilis, and to test the compatibility between donors and recipients, such as ABO grouping, RhD grouping, incomplete antibody testing and cross matching.
    There have been more than 100 millions of blood samples, 600 millions of tests at least each year. Domestic reagents have dominated more than 90 % clinical-labs routinely in China for more than 15 years with the competition globally in the one of the biggest market of the world. Some of the domestic reagents have been produced in China by Joint venture and Joint R/D labs which have gotten the win-win, there nothing has been gotten satisfied by the any giant oversea companies from which target sole-win situation.
    The current development of immunoassays for transfusion safety are to detect mutated TTM, blood group grouping, antibody detection, cross match, such as with innovative immunoassays, reagents to device, the device include reagents, instrument, control medium , and also by the antigen there are genotyping, cross-matching, antibody detect, and so on. There might be most requesting Mur, Diago, and CD36 grouping to be done for transfusion safety in coupe of weeks.
